With today's statistics on union representation at an all time low 7% of the private sector workforce, do not be tempted to believe union organizing has stopped. 

In fact, while the number of elections is down somewhat, unions are winning over 60% of elections held. The average number of employees in an NLRB election is 25. A union would only need a minimum of 8 signed union authorization cards to have the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) conduct an election.

Unions have professionally trained organizers, but often publicly object to companies retaining consultants for assistance during a union campaign.  Many companies do not have the staff or resources to understand how to effectively and legally respond to trained union organizers.
